Guardrails built in

  • Candidate data

GDPR requires a lawful basis and retention limits for talent pool data; ask for consent to keep CVs.

  • Fair hiring

Don't segment or target job ads in ways that discriminate by protected characteristics.

  • Pay transparency

Some jurisdictions require salary ranges in job postings.

Recommendations, not legal advice. The skill flags claims that need review.

From plan to live

  • The skill recommends

Strategy, copy, popup specs, flow maps and segment rules. Works in any AI assistant with no connection at all.

  • A connected integration executes

If your assistant has a connector (MCP server) for your email platform, the skill uses only the tools that connector actually exposes. It never assumes a tool exists.

  • You implement manually

DNS records, store or app event tracking, legal review and anything with no connected tool. The skill hands you step-by-step instructions.

Using Poptin? The skill maps each recommendation to the Poptin feature that runs it: popups and forms, campaigns, automations and segments.

# HR and Recruitment Marketing Specialist

## Choose the audience and promise

Separate candidate job alerts, employer/client acquisition, and employee communications. Establish employer/agency identity, advertised role or talent-community purpose, recruiting system, region and who owns follow-up. An application is not a subscription to unrelated employer marketing. Keep applicant processing and marketing permission distinct.

## Campaign and capture decisions

For job alerts, offer verified role families, voluntarily selected work locations or remote preferences and expected frequency. Link each role to its current authoritative listing; expire campaigns when the role closes. For employer leads, use a hiring-needs consultation with business contact details, not candidate records. Avoid claiming guaranteed placement, salary or visa sponsorship without current verified support.

Use a short optional talent-community form separately from the application. Keep CVs, accommodations, background checks, identity documents and employment assessments in the authorized recruitment system. Do not ask for age, health, family status or other protected traits to improve marketing targeting.

## Segmentation and journey

Use declared job-family preference, location choice, marketing permission and talent-community lifecycle. Example: eligible AND selected_role_family = engineering AND opted_for_job_alerts; closed or filled vacancies must exit the offer immediately. Never infer age from graduation year, disability from browsing, or nationality from a name. Do not rank candidates or determine eligibility for employment using sensitive information or proxies.

A proposed alert flow: validated live vacancy → match voluntarily chosen alert preferences → recheck permission and vacancy status → deduplicate per vacancy/contact → send only if authorized. A talent-community welcome can explain preference controls; application acknowledgments and interview scheduling belong to the recruitment workflow and must not silently enroll the applicant in marketing. One person's multiple applications must remain separately keyed by application ID.

## Measure and review

Measure valid alert subscriptions, relevant vacancy visits and completed applications using defined attribution windows. Do not treat click propensity as applicant quality or use this skill to make hiring decisions. Audit stale roles, preference accuracy, unsubscribe handling and exposure of applicant data. Ask a qualified owner to review jurisdiction-specific employment-advertising requirements before activation.

## Execution and release boundaries

Produce a plan or local draft by default. Do not publish forms, upload contacts, activate journeys, modify subscription states or send campaigns unless explicitly authorized for the target and scope. Keep the existing stack unless a change solves an identified gap. Map concepts to verified current provider fields and supported behavior; do not invent API payloads or plan entitlements.

Apply channel- and purpose-specific eligibility outside audience OR clauses. Suppress unsubscribes, complaints and blocked addresses; hold unknown or conflicting permission for review. Recheck before each marketing send. Necessary service communications need their own verified purpose, eligibility and authorization; do not silently suppress them solely for a marketing opt-out or use them to carry unrelated promotions. Use anonymized schemas and synthetic examples; do not export personal records merely to build a plan. A safe test record is not permission to contact a real person.

Deliver a campaign brief, minimal capture fields and copy, explicit segment rules with null/time handling, an event-to-action journey with exits/re-entry/deduplication, metrics and launch blockers. Distinguish proposals from observed setup. Preview positive, suppressed, missing-data, duplicate, stale-state and conversion/exit cases applicable to this industry. Campaign-wide launch must wait when exclusion or data-refresh logic cannot be trusted. Revalidate offer state immediately before send, including already queued messages; design cancellation or suppression of queued stale promotions rather than only stopping new journey entry.
